These are the standards we hold ourselves to when we handle anything personal about you.

• We tell you why we need something before we collect it, or at the point we collect it.
• We use it only for those reasons, unless you agree otherwise or the law requires something of us.
• We keep it only as long as those reasons need it.
• We collect it lawfully and fairly, and with your knowledge or consent where that applies.
• We keep it accurate and current, to the extent those reasons need.
• We protect it against loss and theft, and against access, disclosure, copying, use or alteration by anyone not entitled to it.
• We will show you how we handle personal information whenever you ask.
• We never share phone numbers or SMS consent with anyone else for marketing — not with third parties, and not with affiliates.

We run the business to those standards. If we ever fall short of one, we would rather you told us than went elsewhere.

How this site works in practice

The section above sets out our principles. This one describes what actually happens when you use this website.

Information you give us

When you fill in a form on this site, we collect what you type into it. Depending on the form, that includes your name, work email address, company, phone number, the lanes and freight you describe, and how you ship today.

We use it to reply to you, to quote and arrange freight, and to keep a record of what we quoted. Submissions are received and stored by Netlify, the company that hosts this website, and emailed to our team. We may also copy the details into our own systems to manage your shipment.

Details you give us about other people

Our routing form asks for a contact name and phone number at the pickup and delivery locations. Those people are usually not the person filling in the form. We use those details only to arrange and complete the shipment — the carrier and the driver need to know who to ask for at each end.

If you enter someone else's contact details, please make sure you are entitled to share them with us for that purpose. We do not use them for marketing.

Information collected automatically

This site uses Google Tag Manager, which loads analytics and measurement tools. These record things like the pages you visit, roughly where you are connecting from, and which site sent you here.

We also use Zoho PageSense, which measures how the pages themselves are used — how far down a page people scroll, what they click, and where they stop partway through a form. We use it to find the parts of this site that are confusing and fix them. It sets cookies in order to recognize a return visit.

Our website host, Netlify, counts visits from its own server records. That one sets no cookies and does not identify anybody.

Those tools may set cookies in your browser. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and this site will still work. Our website host also records standard technical details with each submission, including your IP address and browser, which helps us filter out automated spam.

The freight class calculator

The calculator runs entirely in your browser. The dimensions and weights you enter are not sent to us and are not stored anywhere. If you separately choose to send us a result through a form, that reaches us the same way any other form does.

Who else sees your information

• GlobalTranz. We are a GlobalTranz Authorized Agent and arrange shipments through their systems.
• Carriers. The carrier hauling your shipment receives what it needs to pick up and deliver it.
• Our service providers. The companies that host this website, process our forms and provide our analytics, acting on our instructions.
• Where the law requires it. If we are legally obliged to disclose something, we will.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent or trade contact lists.

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email support.GLL@globaltranz.com and tell us which.

Every marketing email we send has an unsubscribe link. Using it stops the marketing email; it does not stop us replying about a shipment you asked us to quote.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect what you send us. No website is perfectly secure, so please do not send sensitive personal information such as financial account details through a web form.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page.
