Terms of Use

These terms apply to shipgreenlight.com — the pages on it and the tools it offers, including the freight class calculator and the forms. By using the site, you accept them. If you would rather not, please do not use the site.

They are not the contract for moving your freight. That is a separate thing, and the next section explains where it lives.

We arrange freight. We do not haul it.

Green Light Logistics LLC is a freight brokerage based in North Carolina and a GlobalTranz Authorized Agent. We arrange transportation with motor carriers on behalf of shippers. We are not a motor carrier, we do not own trucks, and we do not transport freight ourselves.

When you ship with us, the contract of carriage for that shipment is the bill of lading together with the carrier’s tariff and terms, plus any brokerage or credit agreement you have signed with us. Nothing on this website changes those documents. If anything here appears to conflict with them, they govern.

Quotes, rates and the calculator are estimates

Every rate we quote is based on the shipment details we are given: dimensions, weight, freight class, NMFC item number, the conditions at pickup and delivery, and the services required. If any of those turn out to differ from the actual shipment, the carrier can adjust the charges, and usually will. Reweighs, reclassifications and accessorial charges are billed by the carrier after the freight has moved.

A quote is therefore an estimate for a described shipment, not a fixed price, and it is not a binding offer until we confirm the booking.

The freight class calculator estimates density and suggests a class from it. It runs in your browser as a guide. It does not tell you your NMFC item number, it does not account for every classification provision, and its output is not a rating or a quote. Check anything that matters with us before you ship on it.

The same goes for our lane benchmarks, density chart, accessorial checklist and free NMFC check. We give you our honest read of what we see. We cannot guarantee a carrier will agree with it.

Using this site

You are welcome to use this site for your business. Read it, run the calculator, print the accessorial checklist, send pages to colleagues, cite it in your internal documents. That is what it is for.

What we ask you not to do:

• republish substantial parts of the site as your own content
• scrape or bulk-download it, or run automated tools that place unreasonable load on it
• attempt to break into or disrupt the site, or interfere with anyone else’s use of it
• strip copyright or attribution notices from anything you take
• submit false shipment details, or use another company’s name on a form without their permission

Content on this site

The text, design, graphics and calculators here are ours or used with permission, and are protected by copyright.

GlobalTranz and other company names and marks belong to their respective owners. We use the GlobalTranz name as an Authorized Agent.

Where we write about freight classification, we are describing how the National Motor Freight Classification works. The classification itself is published by the NMFTA, which is a separate organization that we are not affiliated with, and reading it in full requires a subscription from them.

We link out from time to time. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for what appears on them. A link is not an endorsement.

Availability and accuracy

We keep this site as accurate and current as we can. Freight is a field where things move — classifications, fuel, capacity, carrier rules — and we may change anything here without notice. We do not promise that every page is current or free of errors, and we do not promise the site will always be available or uninterrupted.

This site is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limits on our liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Green Light Logistics LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits or lost data, arising from your use of this website — including anything you decide on the basis of the calculator or other information published here.

This section is about the website. Claims about a shipment we arranged — loss, damage, delay or charges — are handled under the bill of lading, the carrier’s terms and any agreement between us, not under this page. How to file a claim is on the FAQ, and the short version is to tell us the same day you find the problem.

Some states do not allow certain exclusions of warranty or limitations of liability, so parts of the last two sections may not apply to you.

Changes to these terms

We may update this page. The version posted here is the one that applies, and we will update the date below when we make a significant change.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute relating to this website will be brought in the state or federal courts located in North Carolina.
